(ANSA) - Rome, May 22 - The Rome 1960 Olympics "remain a
splendid memory for me," Italian President Sergio Mattarella
told International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach
in Rome Friday. Mattarella told Bach, who was in Rome to meet
the bidding committee for the 2024 Olympics, that he became
"close to to the Olympic movement" during the 1960 games.
