(ANSA) - Milan, May 21 - AC Milan have sent an emissary to
Spain to verify whether it will be possible to bring Carlo
Ancelotti, the current coach of Real Madrid, back to the Serie A
side, ANSA sources said Thursday.
Club owner Silvio Berlusconi recently said he had
different visions about football to Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi,
which has been interpreted as a signal the former striker will
be ousted in the closed season.
Milan are 11th in Serie A with two games to go to the end
of the campaign.
Ancelotti, 55, won two Champions League titles, a Club
World Cup, a Serie A crown and an Italian Cup during his
2001-2009 stint as Milan coach.
He went on to win English and French league titles with
Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain and he won the Champions League
for the third time as a coach with Real last season.
But Real are set to end this season trophy-less and there
are reports of friction between Ancelotti, who has a year to run
on his current contract, and Chairman Florentino Perez.
According to press reports, Perez wants to bring in Napoli
coach Rafa Benitez to replace Ancelotti.
