Genoa-Parma match postponed

Legal officers seize assets in team's stadium locker room

(ANSA) - Parma, February 27 - Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) President Carlo Tavecchio said Friday that Sunday's Genoa-Parma match has been postponed due to Parma's problems.
The move came after Parma captain Alessandro Lucarelli said the team won't go to Genoa this Sunday for its scheduled match and requested a postponement.
Players for the bankruptcy-threatened Serie A team have reportedly not been paid for over six months by the club, which may not finish this year's championship, possibly leading to claims that the whole Serie A season has been compromised.
Judicial officials emptied out locker rooms in the team's Tadini stadium on Friday, carrying away benches, lockers and chairs to be sold at auction in an attempt to recoup some of the team's 16-million-euro tax debt.
The officials then visited the team's training ground at Collecchio for more asset seizures.
Last week, troubled Parma's match against Udinese was also postponed because of the home side's financial issues, sources in the city said last Friday.
