Albanian oilman pulls out of Parma

'Northern Italian group with Russian interests takes over'

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Parma, February 6 - Albanian oilman Rezart Taci has sold his controlling stake in Serie A bottom club Parma after less than two months to a northern Italian group with interests in Russia, sources said Friday. Italian food giant Barilla denied any interest, saying reports were "groundless". Northern Italian businessman Fiorenzo Alborghetti was named new "manager of reference".
A consortium led by Taci bought Parma on December 19 and installed 29-year-old Albanian Ermir Kodra as chairman.
Parma, coached by former Italy manager Roberto Donadoni, are bottom of Serie A on nine points from 21 games, six points below Cesena and nine points below Hellas Verona.
They have lost eight of their last 10 matches.
