Italy has most smog-risk areas in EU

(ANSA) - Brussels, February 4 - Italy is the European Union country with the highest number of areas at risk of smog and heat waves in the EU, according to the first such report by the European Environmental Agency (EEA).
    The report collated indicators on health, the environment and socio-demographic factors.
    The study underscored that economic and social inequalities increase the impact of atmospheric and noise pollution as well as extreme temperatures, with the countries of South and East Europe the most vulnerable.
