(ANSA) - Rome, January 10 - Leading Italian immunologist
Roberto Burioni said Thursday that 5-Star Movement (M5S) founder
Beppe Grillo and ex-premier and former Democratic Party (PD)
leader Matteo Renzi were among the figures to sign up to a "pact
for science' that he is proposing.
The pact seeks to support scientific research and combat
'pseudomedicine'.
"Something very important happened today," Burioni said on
his Medicalfacts website.
"Beppe Grillo (on his blog) and Matteo Renzi have signed
(together with many others) a pact to defend science.
"You can be divided on everything but there needs to be a
common base".
