(ANSA) - Rome, October 26 - Europe's biggest 'smog-eating' mural has been created in Rome, sources said Friday.
The 1,000-metre-square piece of painted street art is able to clean the air to the same extent as a 30-tree wood, they said.
The work, titled Hunting Pollution, is the brainchild of a female not-for-profit group led by Veronica De Angelis.
It was painted by the street artist Federico Massa (alias Iena Cruz) using the Airlite technology, an anti-smog paint.
The mural was unveiled in Rome Friday in the prsence of Lazio Governor Nicola Zingaretti and the head of the local Ostiense municipality, Amedeo Ciaccheri.
It is located in via del Porto Fluviale.
