Enel to improve Italian schools

(ANSA) - Rome, October 22 - Dilapidated school buildings all over Italy are to benefit from interventions to improve the structure and learning environment under a project launched by the social responsibility arm of Italian electricity giant Enel and the Reggio Children Foundation Thursday. In total 60 schools will benefit from the three-year programme, including institutes in Carpi, Genoa, Livorno, Teramo, Matera and Catania. The project "marks a certain discontinuity with respect to the other action carried out by Enel Cuore, which has destined over 53 million euros to 660 projects in Italy and abroad since 2003," Enel chairwoman Patrizia Grieco said. "It is a lovely initiative that shows how a large Italian company and leader in the field of innovation can pay great care and attention to the territory it belongs to," Transport and Infrastructure Minister Graziano Delrio said.
