Priority for us is medium-term plans says Commissioner

(ANSA) - ROME, APR 11 - European Economy Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni said Thursday that there was "appreciation" for Italy within the EU executive "for the prudence with which decisions are taken" on budget policy. He especially praised the prudence in the handling of the Superbonus scheme to incentivize energy-efficient building renovations, which was approved by a previous administration in 2020 and has cost the State so far around 122 billion euros, seriously limiting the current government's room for manoeuvre. He also said it was up to national governments to decide what to put in their DEF economic blueprints, after Rome this week approved a document that was low on detail about its plans.
"The priority for us what what will happen in the summer and autumn with the medium-term plans," Gentiloni said. (ANSA).
