Govt eyes 7-yr adjustment agreement with EC - Giorgetti

(ANSA) - ROME, APR 10 - The government is seeking to reach an agreement with the European Commission for an "extension to seven years of the adjustment of the public finances" to put the national debt on a downward path, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said in the introduction to the new DEF economic blueprint.
    He added that the medium-term structural budget plan Rome will put to the EU will start from "the results achieved by the NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan)", consolidating investment and reforms for the ecological and digital transition".
    He said that medium-term plan would also respond to the "need for defence investment and to the essential goals of improving social equity and (generating) the country's demographic recovery". (ANSA).
