(ANSA) - ROME, APR 9 - About twenty members of the Italian
student Free Palestine Committee burst into Tuesday's meeting of
the academic senate of the University of Siena to ask not to
participate in the culture ministry's call for funding for joint
Italian-Israeli research projects.
"Education must have nothing to do with war," said the committee
representatives.
"Thank you for your opinion we must continue our work," replied
Rector Roberto Di Pietra.
The pro-Palestinian committee members then left the room and
after the interruption the meeting resumed. (ANSA).
