(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 17 - Solutions to pro-Palestinian and
anti-Israel protests in Italian universities will be found with
the universities with the aim of not "exacerbating" a situation
highlighted by allegedly pro-Israel la Repubblica editor
Maurizio Molinari being de-platformed in Naples Friday,
university ministry sources said Sunday.
The events that have taken place over the past few days in the
universities are not to be underestimated, but University
Minister Anna Maria Bernini has decided "not to dramatise in
order not to exacerbate tempers," the sources said.
In these hours, solutions are being studied that must be shared
with the entire academic system.
Next Thursday's confrontation with the rectors will not be a
cosmetic operation, but a substantive one.
Only a choice that fully involves the universities - which enjoy
broad autonomy - will be truly effective.
The ministry is not aware of any plans to limit access to
universities, the sources said. (ANSA).
