(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 7 - Family, Birth Rate and Equal
Opportunities Minister Eugenia Roccella said at an event of the
7 October committee for Jewish women Thursday that October 7,
the date of the brutal Hamas attack against Israel, should
become the international day against mass femicide.
"Israel is the only place in the Middle East where women are and
can be free. Today I make a proposal: 8 March is a women's day
but it was born from a mournful date. 7 October is a mournful
date, so let it become the date and the day against mass
femicide," she said.
"Not all associations are on the side of Non una di meno and not
all forget the sisterhood," she added, referring to the Italian
version of the #MeToo movement, Not One Less, which has added
"stop Gaza genocide" to the manifesto of its Women's Day march
in Rome. (ANSA).
