(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 30 - The European Commission is open to greater flexibility in the use of existing funds for the post-Covid National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and in support of economic, social and territorial cohesion of the European Union, Premier Giorgia Meloni said after the European Summit in Brussels.
"There has been discussion on how to address the issue of competitiveness, asking for equal conditions for countries with less fiscal space, namely flexibility in the use of existing funds," Meloni told reporters.
"Today in the Commission's proposals this element is present, and for Italy between the NRRP and Cohesion funds it means 300 billion euros that can be better spent," she continued, saying that she was "very satisfied" with the summit. (ANSA).
