(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 20 - The latest Ixè poll shows Premier Giorgia Meloni's rightwing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party down 2.5% to 28.6% in top spot while the centre-left opposition Democratic Party (PD) has risen by 3.2% to 20.1% in second place under the new leadership of its first woman leader Elly Schlein.
Schlein's personal popularity is up 12 percentage points, just behind populist 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader and ex-premier Giuseppe Conte on 34% to 35%.
First woman premier Meloni's approval rating is down 5% to 46%, like the rating for her government.
The PD, up from 16.9%, has leapfrogged the M5S into second place with the latter falling 1% to 16.2% from 17.2%. (ANSA).
