Italy rejects EC gas-price cap proposal - Pichetto

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 24 - Environment and Energy Security Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin said Thursday that the 15 EU countries calling for gas-price cap, led by Italy, have decided to reject the European Commission's proposed cap mechanism.
    "There's an agreement to not sign up to it," Pichetto Fratin said after a meeting of the 15 and before an Energy Affairs Council.
    "At this stage, out position to to evaluate both the Commission's proposal on the price cap and the other terms of the agreement that can regard other issues, such as solidarity and transparency, but as a single block," he said. (ANSA).
