EC says will work with new Italy govt

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 26 - European Commission spokesman Erica Mamer said Monday that the EC would work with the new government in Italy expected to be led by rightwing Brothers of Italy (FdI) leader Giorgia Meloni, who would be Italy's first women premier.
    "The Commission works with governments elected by the votes in EU states, the same applies in this case as in all others," he said.
    "We hope we have a constructive cooperation with Italian authorities, now we are waiting for Italy to form a government according to the principles of its Constitution". (ANSA).
