(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 16 - Outgoing Premier Mario Draghi said
Friday that central government will do "everything necessary" to
help Marche after the central region was hit by violent storms
and flash floods that claimed at least nine lives.
"First of all I want to express my deepest condolences for the
victims of the flooding in Marche," Draghi told a news
conference called to present his government's new aid package
for the cost-of-living crisis.
The premier was set to visit Marche after the press conference.
He linked the disaster to the climate crisis.
"What happened today shows how the fight against climate change
is fundamental," he said. (ANSA).
