(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 30 - US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in
Rome on a state visit and to see her grandparents home in
southern Italy, on Thursday hailed the "strong leadership role"
Italy has played in the Ukraine crisis.
She said it had been marked by "an all-round commitment in
favour of peace and diplomacy".
Pelosi, who will visit her ancestral home town in Molise Friday,
said "you can't deny the importance of negotiations in this
international situation, which must be based on strength, and I
applaud the role Italy has played inside NATO and the European
Union". (ANSA).
