(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 25 - Italy's National Cybersecurity Agency on Wednesday presented its strategy for 2022-2026, with Premier Mario Draghi saying in the preface that the plan was necessary to "guarantee our digital sovereignty".
"To achieve this it will be crucial to set aside adequate funding with continuity," Draghi said.
"It is our intention to intensify technological-development projects to reach an adequate level of strategic autonomy in the sector".
The report presenting the strategy said 1.2% of gross national investments will be devoted to it each year.
The report said working with 'like-minded' countries to prevent and combat online disinformation will be a central part of the strategy.
It said this disinformation seeks to "condition/influence the country's political, economic and social processes". (ANSA).
