(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 7 - A photo of an Italian LGBTQI+ activist
dressed as a transgender Madonna has raised the hackles of the
rightwing League party and its leader Matteo Salvini.
The snap of Riccardo Simonetti, published on the cover of German
queer monthly Siegessäule, spurred Salvini to say "is it
possible that certain people can't manage to respect even the
Virgin Mary and Holy Christmas?.
"It isn't a fun provocation, it is a disgraceful insult".
