- ROME, DEC 7 - The 5-Star Movement (M5S) president, Giuseppe
Conte, said on Tuesday that he will run for office in the next
general election to "enter through the main door" rather than
via a by-election as had been suggested.
Conte told the program 'L'aria che tira' on private
television channel La 7 that his "political reason" for refusing
to run in by-elections to fill a parliamentary seat that has
remained vacant is that "a leader that is fulfilling a project
has the ambition of running with the M5S in political elections,
with a government program to improve society.
"I would like to enter through the main door", said the
former premier.
