(ANSA) - Rome, June 3 - Former centre-right Senator Sergio De
Gregorio was among nine people arrested for alleged extortion
and money laundering in Rome on Wednesday.
The alleged gang set up companies to launder money, police
said, and commit extortion against shops and other commercial
activities in the centre of the capital.
Those arrested have been charged with extortion, money
laundering and 'self-laundering'.
