(ANSA) - Potenza, March 7 - Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said Thursday he did not want "Serie B children" in explaining his call for unvaccinated children to be allowed to attend Italian nursery schools.
"They can organise it, but I don't want kids left outside the door or in the last rows", he said.
Salvini on Wednesday wrote to Health Minister Giulia Grillo requesting a decree to allow unvaccinated children to stay at Italian nursery schools (ages 0-6).
Salvini said "the purpose of the measure is to guarantee that children stay during the infant school cycle".
He said "let's avert trauma for the smallest ones".
Salvini's move was slammed by Italy's head teachers' organisation which said there was a "risk of chaos".
