Talk to League on TAV if analysis agst

M5S always opposed waste of public money says transport minister

(ANSA) - Rome, January 16 - The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) will talk to its government partner, the anti-migrant Euroskeptic League party, if a cost/benefit analysis on the high-speed rail (TAV) line between Turin and Lyon turns out negative as expected at the end of the month, M5S Transport Minister Danilo Toninelli said Wednesday.
The M5S is against continuing the project while the League wants to see it finished and League leader Matteo Salvini has proposed a referendum if the analysis comes out against the line. If it is indeed negative, Toninelli said "I will talk about it with France, the EU Commission and we will talk inside government, without any prejudice".
He said "the M5S has always been against a project that is a waste of public money".
