(ANSA) - Paris, December 18 - European Economic Affairs
Commissioner Pierre Moscovici said Tuesday that he was trying to
avert the opening of an EU infringement procedure over Italy's
budget for 2019.
Moscovici told France's RTL radio that he was working so that
"Italy is not sanctioned".
"I think it would be negative," he added.
"It is a big eurozone country".
