Budget inadequate on jobs say unions

But CGIL, CISL, UIL say package is reversal of austerity

(ANSA) - Rome, October 22 - Italy's three big trade-union confederations, CGIL, CISL, UIL, on Monday released a joint document criticising the government's 2019 budget plan. The document said that, although the package is "a first reversal of the trend" of austerity, it contains "elements of inadequacy and is lacking a vision of the country and a strategic design capable of recomposing and boosting policies for sustainable development and work". The document features proposals on growth, jobs, tax reform, pensions and the civil service that the unions say are the basis upon which they "intend to open dialogue" with the government.
