Go back home if can't find cash- Di Maio

Full confidence in Tria says deputy premier

(ANSA) - Rome, September 20 - Deputy Premier and Labour and Industry Minister Luigi Di Maio said Thursday that the government should throw in the towel if it is unable to find the money to finance the key parts of its programme. "This government is united," the 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader, who is on a trip to China, told Radio24.
"It is putting together the funding, which is there, to keep the promises made to the Italian people, because the M5S has not forgotten the promises made in the election campaign.
"Being as the money is there, things can be done.
"I said that a serious government finds the funding (for its pledges) because otherwise it is better to go back home.
"Just getting by is useless". He also played down reports of tension with Economy Minister Giovanni Tria over finding the money to cover the M5S's flagship election pledge - the 'citizenship wage' basic income. "The relationship with Giovanni Tria is one of full confidence," he said.
