'Technical' budget OK by Friday mooted (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, December 5 - The Senate may give a "technical" OK to the 2017 budget by Friday if Premier Matteo Renzi's resignation is "frozen" until then, majority sources said Monday. The approval could be further hastened by an agreement to drop all amendments in committee, they said. A similar scenario occurred with Silvio Berlusconi's outgoing government in late 2011, the sources said. The OK would come in a confidence vote, they said.
