Italy not top for MPs' pay (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, October 25 - The Lower House on Tuesday denied media reports that Italy was top of the EU rankings for MPs' pay. It said the European Parliament topped the rankings and Italy was only fifth. The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) has filed a bill that would halve MPs salaries, in a move slammed as "demagogic" by the ruling centre-left Democratic Party.
