(ANSA) - Florence, October 25 - Florence Mayor Dario Nardella
has sent a letter to the Florence prefect urging the interior
ministry not to send any more asylum seekers to Tuscany, until
"the balance with other regions is restored". Nardella said
Tuscany had a migrant presence 12% over due quotas while "there
are various other regions that are below quota, like Lombardy,
Lazio, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Puglia, and Val d'Aosta".
Migrant reception capacity is being strained across Italy by
record numbers of asylum seekers coming from North Africa.
