(ANSA) - Rome, October 24 - President Sergio Mattarella on
Monday blasted people who are critical of vaccines as
"reckless". Italy has seen a significant reduction in
vaccination rates in recent years and last week medical
authorities announced two doctors who had come out against
vaccines faced disciplinary procedures. "It is necessary to
combat backward developments as happens, for example, when
essential vaccines to eradicate dangerous illnesses and stop
others from returning are put into doubt by reckless, groundless
assertions," Matterella said on national cancer research day.
