(ANSA) - Bari, September 28 - Italian marine Massimiliano
Latorre on Wednesday told ANSA he was grateful to "all Italians"
for supporting his successful bid to be allowed to spend the
duration of international arbitration in the 2012 Indian
fishermen shooting case at home in Italy following a ruling by
the Indian supreme court. "In these two years that have not been
easy, this is the second favourable goal reached after the
return to Italy of my colleague (Salvatore) Girone," he said. I
take the opportunity to thank once again the Italian president
for the honour and joy he granted me in meeting me, as well as
all the Italians, the marine associations and the friends on
social networks who never abandoned me and who will remain in my
heart for the rest of my life". A court in The Hague is to rule
on which of the two countries, India or Italy, has jurisdiction
in the case, which has caused friction between Rome and New
Delhi.
Thank you Italians says Latorre (2)
