(ANSA) - Rome, September 16 - Northern League leader
Matteo Salvini said Friday that late ex president Carlo Azeglio
Ciampi was a "traitor" like his successor as head of State
Giorgio Napolitano and former premiers Romano Prodi and Mario
Monti.
"Death is always bad news that should be faced with prayer
and condolences," Salvini said.
"Politically, Ciampi is one of the traitors of Italy and
the Italian people, like Napolitano, Prodi and Monti.
"He had the disaster that hit 50 million Italians on his
conscience, like the others.
"Politically speaking, he is one of the accomplices of the
sell-off of Italy to the powers-that-be".
