(ANSA) - Rome, August 29 - Silvio Berlusconi's center-right
Forza Italia (FI) party said Monday it would work with
center-left Premier Matteo Renzi on his proposed 'Home Italy'
plan to reduce earthquake and other natural disaster risks.
"There are cases and situations in which we must overcome
political differences... because the life and future of
individuals is at stake," said MP and former equal opportunities
minister, Mara Carfagna.
"We welcome the opening by Matteo Renzi, who today called
on all sides to intervene in the aftermath of the (August 24)
quake".
This does not mean, however, that FI will stop being in the
opposition on issues such as an upcoming constitutional
referendum, Carfagna said in a statement.
