(ANSA) - Rome, August 25 - The proceeds of ticket sales from
Italy's museums will be devolved to earthquake-hit zones from
Sunday, Culture Minister Dario Franceschini said Thursday. He
urged all Italians to "go to museums as a sign of solidarity
with the people involved in last night's quake". The culture
ministry said it would use the money to repair damaged heritage.
Several historic churches and other cultural sites were damaged
by the 6.2-magnitude tremor that struck mountainous areas of
central Italy early Wednesday.
