(ANSA) - Venice, August 23 - Finance police seized a
historic record of 61 billion euros from tax dodgers in 2015,
CGIA economic think tank reported Tuesday.
Investigations last year turned up 32,000 illicit
situations including tax evaders, under-the-table employees and
undocumented workers.
Also in 2015, the State reclaimed some 9.8 billion euros or
about 14.8% of the dodged taxes it was owed, according to an
Audit Court report.
Over the past 15 years, finance police investigations have
retrieved almost 506.5 billion euros in undeclared income and
flushed out over 509,000 tax dodgers, CGIA said.
