(ANSA) - Milan, May 31 - Premier Matteo Renzi on Tuesday
campaigned for his Democratic Party (PD)'s mayoral candidate in
Milan June 5, former Expo chief Beppe Sala.
Renzi voiced confidence that Sala would win a run-off,
probably against centre-right candidate Stefano Parisi.
"This game that we must win is like a penalty that you have
to strike well," Renzi told candidates on Sala's ticket.
He added that "Sala can restore dignity to politics".
Sala said "we are the great Milan of hope", while Parisi
said the centre left was "Milan's past, not its future".
Outgoing centre-left mayor Giuliano Pisapia, flanked by
Sala and Renzi, said "we have done many things, with clean
hands".
