Raggi 'goes from gaffe to gaffe'

(ANSA) - Rome, May 31 - Anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) Rome mayoral candidate Virginia Raggi "goes from gaffe to gaffe", centre-right rival Alfio Marchini said Tuesday. "This latest statement on the Olympics is baffling and embarrassing," said Marchini after Raggi was quoted as saying Rome's 2024 Olympic bid was "criminal" with such a big budget deficit - only to clarify she was referring to major public works and not the Olympics.
    "The denial only adds to the confusion," said Marchini.
