(ANSA) - Palermo, May 27 - A nine-month-old migrant girl
orphaned on the crossing from Libya to Lampedusa who has spurred
adoption calls from across Italy is of Nigerian origin, the
police inspector who took her from Lampedusa to Palermo told
ANSA Friday. "Favour is a wonderful girl, she moved me. We know
she is of Nigerian origin," said Maria Rosa Volpe. She said she
had handed Favour over to a social worker at the Palermo
children's court, which will decide where to place her.
