Alfio Marchini said Friday he would name a street after Mother
Teresa of Calcutta.
Marchini, who is backed by centre-right ex-premier Silvio
Berlusconi, called the late missionary "a global example, a
citizen of the world close to the most needy".
Rightwing mayor candidate Giorgia Meloni said earlier this
week she would name a street after late neo-Fascist leader
Giorgio Almirante.
