(ANSA) - Rome, May 4 - Magistrates union ANM said Wednesday
Giuseppe Fanfani, a Democratic Party(PD)-appointed member of the
Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM) was guilty of "undue
interference" by criticising prosecutors in a probe into alleged
bid-rigging by PD Lodi Mayor Simone Uggetti. Fanfani replied
that he would not, for now, ask for a CSM probe to be opened
against the Lodi prosecutors "unless new events happen". The CSM
is the judiciary's self-governing body. Uggetti is accused with
two others of rigging contracts for municipal swimming pools.
