State capital requirements up (2)

Results in line with DEF says economy ministry

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Rome, May 2 - Preliminary State capital requirements totaled approximately 8.2 billion euros in April, up from 6.182 billion in the same month in 2015, the economy ministry said Monday. Capital requirements in the first four months of the year equalled 34.578 billion, up by some five billion euros compared to January-April last year. The Treasury blamed failed collection of RAI public broadcaster license fees as one of the reasons for the increase.
"Net of some extraordinary charges, and taking into account the rhythm of proceeds and payments projected for the following months, the State sector balance is in line with forecasts contained in the government's 2016 economic and financial document (DEF)," the ministry said.
