(ANSA) - Rome, April 21 - The Lower House on Thursday upheld
a request from centrist group Area Popolare (AP) for a bill on
legitimate defence to return to the justice commission amid
controversy over a Democratic Party (PD) amendment that has
allegedly significantly watered down the original proposal
brought by the anti-immigrant Northern League.
The chamber approved the request with a majority of 160
votes as League MPs brandished placards reading "defence is
always legitimate" and shouted "shame" at members of the PD.
