(ANSA) - Bolzano, April 4 - Austrian police opened a formal
investigation Monday into events surrounding clashes that took
place following a protest march over EU migration policies near
the country's border at the Brenner Pass on Sunday, ANSA sources
said.
A 40-year-old man from Asti was taken into custody for
resisting a public official.
Clashes broke out after the march, when about 30 people
tried to block a train and threw rocks and flares at Austrian
police, injuring three officers.
About 30 people, both protesters and police, suffered
irritation from pepper spray.
