(supersedes previous)(ANSA) - Rome, February 24 - The Senate on Wednesday voted its confidence on the goverbment's so-called Milleproroghe decree (literally, One Thousand Extensions) decree with 155 in favor and 122 against.
    The decree now becomes law.
The decree, a hodgepodge of measures that follows passage of the yearly budget, is made up of 10 articles with some 50 extensions ranging from the way municipalities collect taxes, to limits on civil service hires and furniture purchases, to the extension of a government contract with Selex Se-Ma to guarantee the continuance of the Sistri waste traceability program, to school renovations. Another measure extends to January 1, 2017, the obligation to post notices and tender offers online. The decree also extends to December 31, 2016, a rule that says TV broadcasters with revenue equal to more than 8% of market share can't buy newspaper stocks. It cleared the Lower House with the help of a confidence vote.
