Trial request for Berlusconi

Indictment request for 30 others, including Ruby

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Milan, November 19 - Milan prosecutors on Thursday requested that ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi and 30 others be sent to trial over allegations of witness corrupting.
The request centres on witnesses in the case regarding allegations that Berlusconi paid for sex with a then-underage prostitute called Ruby, a Moroccan whose real name is Karima El Mahroug, during 'Bunga Bunga' parties at his home near Milan. The media magnate was eventually cleared of those charges on the grounds that there was no proof he knew Ruby was underage. But it its explanation of the ruling, the supreme court said that there was no doubt that paid acts of a sexual nature took place at the gatherings.
El Mahroug is among several women facing an indictment if a preliminary hearings judge upholds the prosecutors request in the so-called 'Ruby Ter' (Ruby Three) case.
They are accused of taking bribes to keep mum about the sex parties in the original trial and the so-called 'Ruby Bis' (Ruby Two) one against three people who allegedly procured the prostitutes.
In return for huge sums, former teen runaway Ruby allegedly falsely denied having sex with the media magnate.
