(ANSA) - Rome, June 29 - Premier Matteo Renzi on Monday
morning telephoned former Italian president Giorgio Napolitano
to congratulate him for his 90th birthday, sources in the
premier's office said. Napolitano was president of Italy from
2006 until early this year, including the tumultuous period
involving the recent financial and economic crisis. He resigned
due to age and ill health and was replaced at the end of January
by current President Sergio Mattarella.
