(ANSA) - Rome, June 8 - Environmental activists from
Greenpeace staged a protest at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in
Germany on Monday, projecting a green laser beam on Zugspitz
Mountain with the message "G7: Go for 100% renewables!".
The informal bloc of seven world leaders meets annually to
discuss issues including climate change.
This year's two-day meeting began Sunday at Elmau Castle in
Bavaria.
"Only if the United States, Japan and Canada ... stop
opposing a global agreement on climate change, will we be able
to say that we're satisfied with what emerges today from the G7
at Elmau," said Luca Iacoboni, director of Greenpeace Italy's
energy and climate campaign.
