Draghi demands common reforms governance

ECB President says more benefits if countries reform together

(ANSA) - Rome, May 22 - European Central Bank President Mario Draghi on Friday called for greater common governance of eurozone structural reforms, saying this would enhance the benefits for all involved. "Simulations show that if reforms are also well coordinated across the euro area, the short-term benefits for a medium-sized country can be further maximised, especially in terms of limiting the downward effects on inflation," Draghi said in a speech in Sintra, Portugal.
"This reinforces what I have said about the need for stronger common governance of structural reforms in the euro area: if all countries reform together, then all countries benefit more".
